Peel RED Grants diversifying regional economies

Smartstream Technology is proud to have qualified for a RED Grant and acknowledges and thanks the WA State Government for its ongoing commitment to assisting small to medium sized companies to grow their businesses and provide more employment opportunities across the regions.

  • Six Peel projects share $780,000 in Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant funding
  • McGowan Government’s RED Grants creating jobs and diversifying economies across regional WA

Six Peel region businesses will receive almost $800,000 towards projects that create local jobs and support the local economy under round four of the McGowan Government’s Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants.

The RED Grants program is a McGowan Government initiative investing $40.8 million over seven years in locally-driven projects to stimulate economic growth in the regions. Round four of the Peel RED Grants will deliver $780,000 to six projects building on the region’s strengths in agrifood and beverage development and manufacturing.

Smartstream Technology’s $120,000 grant will help fund the procurement, installation and commissioning of a new plastics roto-moulding machine, allowing the company to expand and meet demand for its wastewater and stormwater products used by the civil and industrial industries, both nationally and internationally.

Comments attributed to Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan:

“RED Grant funding is helping regional communities embrace new and exciting business, job and training opportunities.

“Our latest round of REDs will help these existing Peel businesses take their operations to the next level, driving new opportunities in manufacturing and agriculture across the region.

“Our Government is committed to supporting regional local business and creating the diversity of jobs needed to help our regions meet their full potential.”
